    How we met

    The year was 2018. The jeans were skinny, and the hair was parted on the side. Alex was at a young adults’ home group through his church in California. He turned to two cute girls next to him and asked if they wanted to join his group. Andrea and her roommate said yes.

    Green flags immediately started flying as they quoted The Office and talked about Jesus. A few weeks later, Alex brought his friend to hang out at their house, pretending to be really interested in seeing Pride and Prejudice. The friend stopped coming over. Alex did not.

    How we started dating

    In 2020, Alex moved to Austin, Texas. A year later, Andrea did too. They immediately started hanging out again, and Alex asked her on a date. After three years in the friend zone, Andrea was surprised to find out Alex had never really been that interested in Pride and Prejudice.

    They dated briefly, then went their separate ways until 2025, when they found themselves face-to-face on the pickleball court.

    How we started dating (again)

    Somehow, after three years apart, Alex and Andrea ended up at the same church — in the same pickleball league. The first time they faced off on the court, Alex would like everyone to know his team “completely dominated.” Andrea would like everyone to know his partner was incredible, while hers was brand new to the sport.

    When the two of them finally played on the same team, the chemistry was undeniable — on the court and off. Alex asked Andrea out again over pizza, and she had to say yes.

    How he popped the question

    Alex planned a trip back to the city where it all began: Redding, California. He popped the question at Whiskeytown Lake. Three sentences into his speech, Andrea started crying, and Alex forgot everything he was going to say. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Just like she did almost eight years earlier at church, she said yes.

    (P.S. She totally saw it coming.)

    Life lately

    When they’re not busy taking down other teams on the pickleball court, Alex and Andrea are probably trying a new restaurant in Austin, throwing back some Desnudo coffee, or hanging out with their favorite people (if you’re reading this, you’re probably one of them). Even though they love Austin, they’ll never forget their West Coast roots — which is why they split their loyalty equally between Torchy’s and In-N-Out.

Can I bring a plus one?

Everyone we are able to host is named on your invitation, and you will see each of those names when you RSVP. If someone is missing who you expected to see, email us — sometimes it is our mistake.

Are kids invited?

We love your children, but this one is adults only. We hope it gives you a rare night off — and if that makes the trip hard, tell us and we will help you find a sitter in Austin.

When should I RSVP by?

By [RSVP deadline], please. You can change your answer any time before then — just come back to this page and look yourself up again.

What is the dress code?
